Merlin’s Dragonslayer Takes Bronze as Regional CBoB Judging Comes to Crewe
The Champion Beer of Britain (CBoB) regional judging for the Premium Bitters category took place this year at our very own Crewe Rail Ale Festival.
Judges selected three excellent beers from Coach House (Warrington), Storm Brewing (Macclesfield) and our very own Merlin Brewing here in South Cheshire.
Merlin’s Dragonslayer earned a bronze award in what judges described as an exceptionally close competition, providing a clear reminder of the outstanding quality produced by breweries across our region.
This marks the second CBoB 2026 award for a South Cheshire brewery, following the silver picked up by Tom’s Tap & Brewhouse for Mighty Stout earlier this year.
Congratulations to Coach House, Storm, and of course Merlin Brewing on their well‑deserved recognition, and good luck to Coach House, for the next round.
