Privacy
What this branch website collects, why, and where to find CAMRA’s full privacy policy.
This website is run by volunteers of the South Cheshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). The Campaign for Real Ale Ltd is the data controller for personal data handled by its branches, and the CAMRA Privacy Policy applies in full. It sets out the purposes and lawful bases for processing, how long data is kept, and your rights.
This page explains, in plain terms, what this branch website itself handles. This site does not carry advertising.
What this site handles
Five places where this website touches personal data:
Our contact form
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and your message. It is sent by email to the committee member responsible for the topic you choose.
We use these details only to reply and deal with your enquiry, and keep them only as long as that takes. We never add you to a mailing list, and only share your enquiry with CAMRA nationally if it needs their help.
Website statistics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages are useful. Analytics cookies are only set if you agree through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. See the CAMRA Cookie Policy for more.
Embedded content
Some pages show content from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Google Forms and Google Maps (including “Get me there” directions). When you view or use it, the provider may collect data under its own privacy policy. Our interactive Branch Map uses OpenStreetMap, which does not set tracking cookies.
CAMRA members area
Signing in to our members area uses CAMRA’s national sign-in service. We receive only what is needed to confirm you are a current member and what access you have; your membership details stay with CAMRA nationally.
Your location on our maps
Our maps only use your location if you choose a feature that needs it. The locate-me button on the map asks your browser for your position, and your browser or phone asks your permission first. Your position is used only on your device to show where you are on the map; it is not sent to us or stored.
“Get me there” opens Google Maps to plan your route, where Google may use your location under its own privacy policy. You can refuse or withdraw location permission at any time in your browser or phone settings.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data held about you. For anything relating to this website, contact the branch at webmaster@southcheshire.camra.org.uk.
For anything else, or if you are not happy with our response, contact CAMRA’s Data Protection Officer at dataprotection@camra.org.uk.
