Announcement of closure on 15th January 2025. Reopened in June 2022. Half-timbered building. Late C17, with C 20 alterations. Roughcast, stucco and planted timbers on brick walls, also one timber-framed wing. Once a coaching inn. The Tithe Map from circa 1840 shows it as the Flash Inn. [Public House, Smithy, shop yard and garden]. At that time the landowner was William Bishton Garnett and the occupier was one William Pinnington. The 1920 OS map has it as the Nag's Head. Has had a bowling green since 1911, and was once part of the Chester Northgate Brewery Company Ltd. estate. Recently (2023) acieved entry into the Good Food Guide.
