See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site
Small, friendly, traditional two-roomed corner pub selling reasonably priced beers. Corner pubs such as this were once common in the town but, with many now sadly closed, the Earl of Chester remains as one of only a few surviving examples. The Earl is clearly shown on the 1874 Ordinance Survey Five TV screens throughout show Sky and TNT sports as well as terrestrial programmes Darts, Dominoes, and Pool teams are hosted, many participating in local leagues Regular Wednesday night quiz, last Friday Bingo, and Saturday Karaoke (check for dates) The front bar is less busy and quieter than the main lounge/bar area, outside seating is provided, and with warmer weather sees some activities in here. Both the front bar and the pool room, located off the main lounge/bar area, can be used for functions. There is sometimes live music (again check for dates) The Juke box is free at all times, so ample music. The main bar area is decorated to reflect the landlady's love of classic rock music.
